A lot of the drive that had been present in the Beatles years was gone, but there were still moments of brilliance.-https://www.blogger.com/profile/11114847695350286226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38474413.post-28773328457166885042007-08-19T09:23:00.000-04:002007-08-19T09:23:00.000-04:00Good Morning Mike,I followed you here from your TO...Good Morning Mike,
I followed you here from your TOP blog.
I think you're being a little hard on who is undeniably a creative talent.
With regard to his solo work, I always considered John Lennon a true "artist" with all of the accompanying shortfalls. Moments of incredible expression surrounded by a bunch of glop. The difficulty in what we see of John's work is that we see EVERTHING. We are exposed to all of the marginal work because his fame enabled the money changers to bypass reasonable editing.
As talented a Blogger as you are what you said about breakfast this morning was not published.
When one hangs on every syllable of a celebrity we are left with gospel that would have been better served by a lucid bit of editing.

John Lennon's solo work serves as the "inspiration" of a remarkable person more than music that stands repeated plays. I have "acoustic" and I have listened to it twice since it came out a couple years ago. It reminded me of some of the high points of a creative man and will sit nicely on the shelf with a few others.

daleDale Moreauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18327511235440395809noreply@blogger.com
